Black & Decker ST4500 3.5 amp 12-Inch Electric Trimmer/Edger (Lawn & Patio) this is seriously the biggest piece of junk i have ever bought! just bought it today and right out of the box, all it does is jam! i got so mad having to take the spool out every time i tried to use it that i just smashed the whole thing into pieces in the driveway! (see the picture). shame on LOWE’s for carrying this piece of junk too! i’m going to stuff all the pieces in the box and take it back to them. i don’t care if i get my money back or not, because I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BLACK & DECKER ANYTHING FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!! DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE WEEDEATERS!! buy the inexpensive WEEDEATER brand, i’ve had two of those in the last 6 yrs, each one lasted 3 yrs which is incredible! it’s just that walmart was out of them or i would have bought it instead.update: LOWE’s did the right thing and gave me my money back!! no questions asked – THANK YOU! i did tell them that they need to discontinue the item and not sell it to their customers. Amazon should do the same!

Shakespeare Push-n-Load Head This trimmer head is a little bit more hands on than some might like, but for me it beats having to remove the trimmer head cover every 3 minutes to separate melted together line. When my weed trimmer bit the dust, I saved my trimmer head so that I could use it on my new trimmer. In the years since I purchased my old B & D trimmer they have changed almost all of the heads to a different size or shape from what my Weed Warrior was made to fit. Finally found a trimmer that still used the older shape. I don’t know if the newer Weed Warrior will have the same problems or if they have included an adapter for the newer shaped heads. Very good product and has held up very well to weekly use.
Maxpower 5101PT Pivotrim Pro Universal Straight Shaft Grass Trimmer Head (Lawn & Patio) The Pro Trimmer does not fit on this ‘all gas’ (4 stroke) model. To possibly enable this to affix to the trimmer you must remove the ‘guard’. I will have to take to a shop to see if they can interchange some parts to allow the Pro Trim to fit on the existing shaft. Dissapointed

Fiskars 9210 Long-Handled Swivel Grass Shears (Lawn & Patio) I wasn’t sure about buying this product as there was a lot of negative reviews but glad I decided to get it. It is very good for what I wanted it for , fence line, around house and trees. It certainly is not meant to be for large areas, that is what a mower is for .

Black & Decker NST2036 Heavy-Duty 36-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio) I got this because my gas weed eater shot craps. I don’t have the strength in my hands anymore to try and start another gas weed eater, especially in the fall when it’s cold and I need to trim for the last time. I tried the electric, but got tired of getting out the cord, dragging it around behind me, and then wrapping it back up. I got this and I loved this weed eater…with exceptions: 1. The string is a PAIN! I never would have bought if I had realized it was a dual string pack. I am a DIY rewind gal and this is a PAIN!!! I am constantly stopping and taking off the head and rewrapping it…and this is the original string as I haven’t yet used it all, because… 2. The battery pack SUCKS! It literally sucks out the charge so fast I can’t finish a small portion of my lawn. It takes about 24 hours to recharge so I am on this job for ever. I finish in time to restart. I was going to buy an extra battery pack and HOLY COW! A new battery pack is like $135.00!!!! And they are worthless. 3. Last complaint: It is heavy. That stinking, worthless battery pack must weigh a ton #slight exaggeration.) NOTE: The not so strong and the elderly #me)…BEWARE!I am glad to have vented. I just came in from trying to finish…and no, still not finished. I am going to drag out my electric Black and Decker which I love, but hate dragging the cord out and dragging it around. Black & Decker DF-080 Dual -Line Replacement Spool .080-Inch (Lawn & Patio) No real trauma putting this into a Black & Decker GH1000. It fits, it spins. The line lasts decently if you avoid things that will break it. Basically, there’s stuff that the string will break/cut and things that will break/cut the string. Figure it out and get much longer string life.However…The string feeding system for the GH1000 is about the same as any other trimmer. I don’t know that the thicker string is a huge advantage either.

Black Black & Decker NST2118 12-Inch 18-Volt Ni-Cd Cordless Electric GrassHog String Trimmer /Edger (Lawn & Patio) To completely edge/trim my yard I have to do about 500 linear feet of light trimming, give or take 50 feet. The two batteries supplied with this edger give me juuuuuuust enough power to do the job. If I have to do any extra, for get it! However, I knew about the trimmer’s limitations when I bought it, so I can’t knock it–just pointing it out. It’s not as powerful as my for mer gas trimmer either so it’s not really fit for heavy-duty weed clearing, but the tradeoffs are magnificent: no oil/gas mixing, no leaking (my old ‘high-end’ gas trimmer leaked CONSTANTLY), no nasty smoke emissions, and it’s so much lighter. Just plug in the battery and go. You do have to make sure to charge the batteries well in advance, but that usually isn’t a problem.To edge, it’s incredibly simple just to turn the head around and go. The ‘flip-down edge guide’ is problematic, though, as it doesn’t like to stay in place and there’s no way to lock it there. It just gets lower and lower as you put weight on it, and I have to stop every 20-30 feet to adjust it. That’s honestly my biggest gripe about this edger.I wish it were about 8 inches longer; as a 6′ person it’s just a tad too short for me and I end up hunched over too much and getting a sore back.Overall this a GREAT trimmer for a small yard (if you’ve got a larger yard, get extra batteries). I definitely recommend it.

Factory Reconditioned Black & Decker 9-Inch 12-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer and Edger CST1100R (Lawn & Patio) My old string trimmer died, and I decided that a cordless one would be a better option, and this one fit the bill, at a great price. More than does the job – even cut a couple very small tree branches. A little heavy, but that’s a minor trade off to not have to deal with a cord.
